I had an injury that evolved into movement disfunction, chronic pain, and eventually I started experiencing numbness in localized areas of my body. I tried conventional exercise therapy for a long time, but was not able to fully heal.

When I was researching chronic pain and pelvic floor disfunction, I found HOPE Physical Therapy. Their web site mentioned that they focus on chronic pain, healing and hands-on therapy, so I reached out to see if they could help me.

The therapists at HOPE listened to everything I had to say empathetically and gave me unique personalized treatment, which I did not experience at other physical therapy centers. The therapy can be intense at times, but after several weeks I regained feeling where I had been experiencing numbness and things started to feel better in my body. They continued to listen to my issues and adapt the treatment to help me progress as things evolved.

If anyone is experiencing chronic pain or discomfort and you are not making progress with conventional exercise therapy, I would absolutely recommend reaching out to Hope Physical Therapy. I am very thankful that I did, and grateful for each therapist that has helped me in my healing journey.

I am a breast cancer survivor. After treatment, I experienced shoulder pain with certain motions that caused me to pause. My range of motion had been diminished. I immediately sought out traditional physical therapy, but this action did little to ease my discomfort. A friend told me about HOPE Physical Therapy and I decided to give them a shot. At my consultation, I shared every ache and pain I was experiencing. I had a keloid from where my port had been removed that produced a bit of discomfort. I didn’t know what may be connected to what. And the treatment began!

There were a couple of times I thought I’d jump up off the table. Yes, in the beginning during manipulation I experienced pain, but I was well aware that this would happen and would be short-lived which was true. As I continued with therapy, those things that once produced pain or discomfort no longer did. It took a while but it happened. My therapist and I laughed about this vividly recalled changed.

Now I’m back again. Need some work on the other shoulder. Similar pain but no where near as intense.

Survivorship is the gift that keeps on giving. Be blessed!

I had been having A LOT of pain in my hip. It kept getting worse. It would hurt when I’d stand up, it hurt when I climbed stairs, but worst of all it hurt at night and kept me awake. I’m fairly active and tried treating it on my own with yoga, foam rolling, exercises, and ice. The whole routine would help me get to sleep, but the pain would be back the following day. Finally after several years of this, I listened to my wife and made an appointment at HOPE. I could not be happier with my progress. I am pain free and have been for weeks. I regret not seeking their professional help sooner. I went from fearing I would need hip replacement to now being able to do everything I want pain free. I would highly recommend HOPE Physical Therapy.

Starting in the early 2000’s I experienced a neck injury of a herniated disc causing chronic pain radiating down into my shoulder and into my arm.  My arm and hand would then start going numb.  I sought treatment through the years of spinal injections and prescription medicines, none of which worked for an extended period of time.  I also suffer from migraines, which I take a daily preventative for, but will occasionally have a break through migraine.  Not wanting to have an invasive surgery or continue taking medicines, I started looking for a less invasive, all natural treatment.

I had heard of HOPE through radio advertisements, neighbors, and a Licensed Massage Therapist that lived close to me that would treat me for my migraines and shoulder pain, but felt I needed more time and treatment.

I started with HOPE when they were located on GE, and go weekly.  I specifically remember my first visit from the time I walked in and was greeted with such a wonderful friendly smile by Ami, who explained everything with such detail.

Then when I met Leann, I knew I was in the right place!  Her bubbly demeanor, yet being professional and thorough to pin point the exact problem and provide a treatment plan that focused on that area, made me feel like I wasn’t just another patient.  Since being treated at HOPE I haven’t had another injection and was able to stop taking the prescribed medicines, which was a goal I had from the beginning!

Every week I am greeted by a very professional, compassionate staff.  I really believe it starts at the front desk.  I have been seeing Gretchen combined with Leann, and when I leave I am either completely pain free, or will be by the next day.  I have been able to sleep through the night without waking because of numbness and work a full day without pain.  Not only do they provide exceptional care, they are very genuine with always supporting me in my mission work in Kenya, and I feel like I have gained an office full of lifetime friends.

I would and do highly recommend HOPE Physical Therapy for a professional, knowledgeable, compassionate form of care, where you will definitely see and feel the results!

I believe God worked healing through you because it was a miracle I found you. I had been having pain and dysfunction since 2004. From 2012 on the pain was almost constant. If you had asked me then, I wouldn't have called it pain, it was a near constant need to urinate. I was treated with antibiotics multiple times for what was presumed to be a bladder infection. Though testing my urine rarely provided evidence of a UTI. It was miserable. There were times when I would urinate every 30 minutes, sometimes even more frequently, and still feel uncomfortable. Now that I do not have that feeling I am grateful every time I pee and do not feel pain or the sensation of needing to go right after emptying my bladder. Unless you have experienced this you probably cannot appreciate the relief I feel. I think about what you did for me everyday and I thank God. I am a physician and despite having been to medical school, residency, and fellowship I NEVER knew that the bladder can refer pain to the skin or other parts of the pelvis. I also had severe sexual dysfunction due to the pain with penetration. I had treatment for this issue in 2011 with a different Physical Therapist, it helped some but my husband and I were still having problems. The treatment with Leann starting in 2016 was so much more effective than prior treatment. Before seeing Leann I told my husband that I would rather never have sex again because every time I had sex I felt like I got a bladder infection. The only thing my Dr. did was prescribe antibiotics chronically - which seemed to help until I stopped them and the sensation would come back. I am embarrassed by the ignorance of the medical profession about this issue. Before I got help I felt embarrassed for having a problem, like it was somehow my fault. In treatment at HOPE Physical Therapy I felt better after the first exam. This may sound impossible, but it is true. Through my treatment I stopped leaking urine. I wish that I had not suffered so many years of discomfort but I am eternally grateful for the relief I have and I hope that others can get the help they need as well. It is a shame 43% of women report some kind of sexual dysfunction and and many times their doctor does not know what to do to help.

When I first came to HOPE Physical Therapy I had been suffering with severe foot pain for over a year. I was in excruciating pain from the moment my feet hit the floor every morning. Each day I knew it would be at least 12 hours before I could get off my feet again. I was desperate and suffering mentally thinking I would have to live in this kind of pain for the rest of my life. I had been wearing different custom orthotics and seeing a foot doctor with no relief whatsoever.

My very first visit with Leann actually gave me some immediate relief, which I hadn’t had in over a year. It was my first glimpse of hope that I would not have to be in this kind of pain forever. Each visit I got more and more relief that lasted a little longer each time. My pain used to be a 10 out of 10 but now, even after going two weeks between treatments, my pain only ever reaches a 2 out of 10 – I can feel it, but it doesn’t inhibit my life whatsoever. It has now been 9 months and when I look back I am amazed at how I used to have to live. I am a changed person both physically and mentally.

I would be remiss if I didn't take a moment to express my appreciation for what you were able to do for me in therapy. I was told by 2 different doctors that I had a uterine prolapse and needed a hysterectomy. I decided to get a 2nd opinion at Loyola Univ Med Ctr where I was told I did not have a prolapse and physical therapy was recommended. To my great advantage, your name was on Loyola's list of qualified therapists.

After having only 10 sessions with you, my life is back to normal. My intimate relationship with my husband is back to normal. Thank you for so much for giving me back my quality of life. Your professionalism, extensive and impressive medical training and sweet personality are a gift to every woman and man lucky enough to find you in their search for help.

My journey started when I was 51 years old; it took me 4 years to gain understanding and control of my vestibulitis, vulvodynia, and vaginismus -- pelvic floor dysfunction. Those years I "felt" my vulvar area every waking moment -- a prickling, burning, smarting, stinging pain -- like catching a pubic hair on a zipper. I had sex with my husband of 25 years plus only a couple of times during these years because of vulvar pain. On reflection, I had pain during intercourse much of my sexual life, but it had now intensified to a point I could not have my husband touch me "down there." I couldn't wear underwear because of the pain -- how could I have sex? My husband has been kind, patient, never forceful, and definitely by my side during this journey; this condition took over more than our sex life; it became the focus of our relationship. I knew we were consumed with this condition when he walked in from work, looked at me, and said: "7-8?" referring to the pain scale we frequently used to evaluate my pain. He didn't say "hi," he didn't ask about my day. He saw me and saw the pain. I was depressed, in chronic pain, and felt alone. I was aggressive in my search for help! Over the years I went to 4 GYNs, a vulvar specialist, an allergist, a nutritionist, a dermatologist, a chiropractor, and an acupuncturist; I was prescribed numerous treatments/interventions -- some were slightly helpful, some initially helped but not for long; some were totally ineffective, and some actually made the condition worse. I saw an ad on television for a Pelvic Floor Physical Therapist and impulsively called. With here I have found help and hope; much of the time I now feel "normal" and relatively pain free. It has taken 2 1/2 years of therapy but I feel like I am back in control; I have my life back; my husband has his wife back. I am thankful for the skill and expertise of my Pelvic Floor Physical Therapist. I feel badly for those who don't know about her!

It was 2005 and the pain was so bad that I felt I had a knife stuck in my back. I could only stand up or lie completely flat. Sitting and getting up from a sitting position was excruciating. I thought I must be having a gall bladder or appendix attack -- but my doctor said no. I had a history of Interstitial Cystitis, an inflammation of the bladder diagnosed in 1997, and I thought this must be connected somehow. The pain was in the same general area. I found my way to HOPE Physical Therapy after finding Leann listed as a Physical Therapist on one of the Interstitial Cystitis sites. It is now 2014 and this is a long overdue 'thank you' to Leann Croft for her skill, professionalism, encouragement and concern in treating me. It took one visit in 2005 for Leann to find the pelvic muscle that was 'short' and thus pulling on other muscles creating painful trigger points. I learned that for me doing Kegels was not recommended as I had some weak and short pelvic floor muscles. A few months of physical therapy with Leann in her office, some home stretch exercises to do, a list of some things not to do (like Kegels) and I was without pain! I still see Leann occasionally for a 'tune up' if I feel things aren't quite right. For me, those things that seem to irritate my pelvic floor are long car or airplane rides, stress and/or an Interstitial Cystitis flare. Thank you Leann!

Before meeting Leann and receiving PT for pelvic floor dysfunction, I was unable to have intercourse. I am a 27 year old married female and could not have intercourse with my husband due to severe pain. Now, because of physical therapy treatment, I am not only able to have intercourse with my husband but it is pain free! What a difference this type of therapy has made in our lives.

I am a 70 year old woman who was suffering from urinary leakage. My attitude going into pelvic floor physical therapy was skeptical at best. After two and a half months of being treated by Leann for incontinence, I am 90% better. I used to leak urine daily and sometimes wore 2-3 pads per day. Now I wear one pad per day on a "bad" day. I have even caught myself leaving the house without a pad on.

I can't express the thanks I have for how much of a difference you have made in my life. Not only do I appreciate what you have done for me physically by eliminating intercourse pain. But I appreciate also what a great health care worker you are. You made me feel so comfortable with my problem and made me mentally prepared to do what it takes to get better. You even helped me through all the pain with making me laugh. You have truly touched my life and I am more grateful than I can express.
