Decompression Table

What is Spinal Decompression?

Spinal decompression is a form of non-surgical treatment to provide extra space between vertebral discs to allow for natural healing and recovery. Spinal decompression is achieved by using a specially designed traction table to help realign the spine.

Spinal decompression is a great method for decreasing back pressure and pain within the spine. To relieve pain, spinal decompression creates more negative pressure within the disc–encouraging the disc to reposition itself. In the case of herniated or bulging discs, the decompression allows the disc to return to its natural position within the spine.

By righting the alignment of the spine, spinal decompression also allows for a restored flow of spinal fluid and nutrients needed to keep the body working correctly.

Conditions Treated by Spinal Decompression

Spinal decompression therapy is especially useful for patients suffering from neck or low back pain.

If you have been diagnosed with one of the following, spinal decompression may be helpful for:

  • Degenerative disc disease

  • Slipped or herniated discs

  • Spinal Stenosis

  • Sciatica

  • Lower back pain

  • Scoliosis

By providing more space for discs and spinal vertebrae to align properly, spinal decompression therapy reduces instances of pinched nerves.

Spinal decompression may also help reduce back, neck, and leg pain that has resulted from a damaged spinal disc. One of the benefits of spinal decompression therapy that many patients experience is the reverse of degenerative disc disease.
